Rumination
This is where you dwell on a negative thought or experience (eg. a bad audition) over and over
again in your head, causing you to lose sight of all the positive experiences in your life.
Reframe
As soon as you recognise the rumination, pause and make a list of all the things that DID go
well in that experience. If you can't remember the things that went well in that particular
experience, make a list of things that are going well for you right now.
Exercise 1
Make a list of all your wins this week–big or small!
Make it a habit to do this once a week to remind yourself of all your successes.
Exercise 2
Before you go to bed, ask yourself, “what are 3 things that went well today?” You can either write your answers, say them out loud, or think them.
Make it a habit to do this every night.
